Each week, we recite our Generosity Practice together as a church to form our hearts out of the way of the world (fear, scarcity, greed)and into the way of Jesus (joy, generosity).

Generosity Practice

God, there is nothing I have that You have not given me. My possessions and my life belong to You, bought with the blood of Jesus. I give to turn my heart away from the idol of money and toward You, the one true God.

To spend everything on myself is the way of the world, and it leads to never enough. But generosity is the way of those who call Jesus Lord and live free.

You teach that where my money is, there my heart will be also. So God, I give You my heart.

I am made in Your image, so I will be generous because You are generous. I will not neglect to do good or to share what I have, for these sacrifices are pleasing to You.

Receive what I give: for the work of Your kingdom, the building of Your church, and the care of my brothers and sisters in need.
